A practical learning opportunity that students complete tasks assigned by company supervisors and interact via online communication (videoconference, e-mail). A hands-on experience in real international work environment where students have opportunity to present their internship outcome to the top management of company.

Weathernews Inc. 
Field of Internship Weather information platform for transportation (voyage planning, aviation support, road, railway management), weather data analysis, smartphone application

Available positions 
  • 10-15 virtual interns
  • 3-4 onsite interns (selected from virtual interns)
Requirements & Preferred skills
  • General skills used in Weathernews: Ruby, Python, Perl, C, C++, HTML5, CSS3, Objective C, Java, JavaScript, UNIX platform, FreeBSD, Creativity
    • Students who have at least two of these skills are preferable.
Virtual internship* 2016/10/01-11/10 [4 weeks]
Onsite internship in Japan* 2017/01~03 or 2017/06~08

  • *  = Exact schedule to be confirmed with companies and selected students
  • Main language used in this internship: ENGLISH

    • Resume
    • Copy of transcript
    • Copy of English Proficiency test score (e.g. TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC or others) (If any)
    • PDF version of Recommendation letter from faculty members or employers (Form: http://goo.gl/RP93fl)
    • Photo (.jpg or any format)
  • Take logical communication test (URL for the test will be sent to those who submit application form and all required documents.)
    Please take the test before the application deadline.

5. FINANCIAL SUPPORTS

  • Two-way air ticket, accommodation, and travel insurance (only for official EBA activities) will be provided to successful internship candidates.
  • Other excluded expenses: 200-250 USD (weekly)
    • Daily meals and local transportation
    • Social and entertainment
    • Visa fee & Visa processing fee

1st INFO-SESSION: on 20th July 2016 (Wed) at 17:50~18:30 (UTC+9, Japan time)

  • Tentative time schedule
    • 17:50-18:10: Brief introduction of internship program will be explained by EBA coordinator.
    • 18:10-18:20: Overview of company, and internship assignment will be introduced by company representatives
